Casual to co*cktail AttireBack in 2021 I gave Ryan Lundquist “permission” to wear his favorite shoes Vans to his market talks & meetings - embracing the idea that it was part of his branded image. Then, back in May I had to broke the news that he could NOT wear them to an event he was invited to speak at….Why? It was not a simple market talk, it was “co*cktail attire” - so yup, it was time to dress up my friend!Quick remeasure session and we pulled together a custom look with fitted shirt, dark dress slacks and a sportcoat - not too dressy, but not too casual!The brown dress shoes were not his first choice (we did consider black out vans), but they paired nicely. Hard to believe, but true: It took me 4 YEARS to post on social media and to attend mixers that required me to talk to others about my business! As someone making a midlife change, I held myself back because I doubted my ability to navigate a career shift and fulfill a new role; becoming a stylist that had less formal training than my healthcare role made me feel like an imposter. I know that networking and sharing about yourself and a new business can be daunting at any age & stage of life. I now love to mentor others through these transitions so they can find success faster than I did!So, it gives me great pride to see the Stylists in my Studio work through these fears in a matter of weeks or months (vs 4 years ;)#Stylist #Mentor #ImposterSyndrome #CareerShift #Midlife #NextChapter

“It will be worth it “– “energy begets energy “– “you got to PAY to play “– special thanks to my clients who encouraged me with these words, to jump into the arena of golf tournaments!First – Mark Haney encouraged me to sponsor my first hole at a golf tournament for AllegiantVets last September – then Zack Finley not only cheered me on but literally talked me through how to prep & what to expect (since he has done a few ;)Second - Isaac Zipp and Sean Cook pushing me out of my comfort zone, to commit to a higher ticket sponsorship May 2024, knowing it would have a good ROI. Of course, I had an amazing time at both - seeing clients, being introduced to NEW clients, and making valuable connections!I was so well suited for the crowd at the second tournament, for TRADESTRONG Foundation with Sean Cook and Shellie Cook, that I was approached by one of the golfers to participate in a Celebrity Golf Tournament; dressing both their invited celebrities and their top tier sponsors this October.Wow! Such an amazing opportunity - and trust me, I recognize that if I had not done the first tournament, I would not have met the sponsor of the second tournament – and if I had not upped the ante for the second tournament, I would not have crossed paths of the organizer for this third tournament….Just shows, that “all growth starts out of your comfort zone”. Take your pre-teen to work day! Turns out if you buy him a smoothie, he will inventory fabric swatches!!Also, he visited “his favorite jacket” - it’s the smallest sample jacket I have in the studio and he loves to try it on for size when he visits - this was the first time he asked for the tie 🤩 - how does he look?
